Joe Whelan began playing guitar at the age of 16, since then he has become a virtuoso guitar player, mastering the fretboard over the years and developing a solid rock voice.

Joe has played a wide array of live shows across the UK, not only solo but with a number of bands to. At 16 Joe joined his first band experience in the form of Crash Diet, but unfortunately the style of music was not to his liking, so he decided to part ways with crash diet after a few weeks.

He later joined the UK's number one Metallica tribute Mentallica, with whom Joe played a great number of gigs, and gained valuable professional live music experience. In 2005 Joe left Mentallica for newly formed Progressive Metal band Dementia.

Dementia was a part of Joe Whelans career that he devoted a lot of time and effort to, they played some fantastic gigs across the UK and gained a lot of fans and exposure on the way. The band played alongside some big names such as MAJ, Bullet For My Valentine, Breed 77, Exodus, Death Angel and more. It was with Dementia that Joe found his talent for song writing, alongside writing partner Andy Turner the two wrote the bands EP 'Life Gets Easier', the self titled album 'Dementia', and their most successful release 'The Path To Valhalla'.

Unfortunately in July 2011 Dementia split, and Joe decided to take this time to begin writing material for a solo album.
After Dementia, Joe also answered an advert for successful Metal band Cloven Hoof...which he was selected for out of 147 guitarists. Joe has recorded and toured Europe with Cloven Hoof.

2012 Joe enters X factor and makes a massive impression on Millions of viewers gathering a world wide fan base. He has also, the release of an Interactive comic with an embedded music video for 'I Lye Lonely' through Rok records.

Joseph Whelan, now 26 specialises in Rock and acoustic music. With influences of the likes...Bonjovi, Guns n' Roses, Led Zeppelin, Nickelback, Ed Sheeran, Alter Bridge...and many more.

Joe offers a variety of show styles:

Rock Set (solo or with a band)
In this set Joseph delivers powerful Rock vocals and Virtuoso Electric guitar playing, with songs from the likes of 'Led Zeppelin' 'AC/DC' 'Guns N' Roses' 'Nickleback' 'Bonjovi' 'Foo Fighters' 'Kings Of Leon' 'Brian Adams' 'Aerosmith and many more.

Acoustic Set (Acoustic Guitar and Vocals)
In this set Joseph gives a more 'up close and personal' feel, where he strips music down to purely his voice and either a 6 or 12string guitar. In this set he also mixes style from Rock, to Pop, and Soul. As well as some of Josephs well written original music, you can here him cover the likes of 'The Verve' 'U2' 'James Morrison' 'Ed Sheeran' 'Alter Bridge' 'Bonjovi' 'Al Green' 'Stevie Wonder' 'Marvin Gaye' 'The Script' and many more.

Vocal only set (with backing tracks)
On request Joseph will also perform vocal only accompanied by a backing track, he will cover as much style as possible by singing tracks from those mentioned above and many others.
